．The Association held its Spring Reception on 19 February 2012 at the Hong Kong City Hall Maxim Palace Restaurant.

 

．Donation to the Department of Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, University of Hong Kong to upgrade specialist service for the treatment of children suffering from immunodeficiency disease and allergy.

 

．Donation to the Department of Medicine, the University of Hong Kong to support research on driver mutations and transcriptomic profiling for diagnostics and therapeutics application in lung cancer.

 

．Sponsor evening reception for elderlies held on 2 March 2012 at Hong Kong YMCA.

 

．On 31 March 2012 Directors Returned to Shunde to Pay Homage to Ancestors and Renew Friendship with Clansmen.

Between 31 March and 2 April 2012 Directors returned to Shunde to “sweep the tomb” of ancestors and strengthen liaison with fellow clansmen. During the trip, they also donated to community welfare, visited the Daliang Yilian Home for the Aged and the villa of Shunde elderly Mr. Choi Pak Lai.

 

．Sponsor Hong Kong Primary Care Conference 2012 organized by the Hong Kong College of Family Physicians. Chairman Steve Poon and Vice Chairman Lawrence Lo attended the Opening Ceremony and received the souvenir on behalf of Min Yuen Tong.

 

．On 20 July 2012, Mr Wang Zhi-lin, Minister of United Front Work Department of Foshan City (Centre left) and Mr Wang Guo-jia, Section Chief of Social Work Department of CPC Shunde Committee, Foshan City (Left 5), visited Min Yuen Tong.

 

．Donation to the Division of Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology, The University of Hong Kong to support a study on distinguishing the group of rheumatoid arthritis patients who will benefit most from biologic therapies. ．On 12 October 2012 Directors Returned to Shunde to Pay Homage to Ancestors and Renew Friendship with Clansmen.

Between 12 and 14 October 2012 Directors returned to Shunde to “sweep the tomb” of ancestors and strengthen liaison with fellow clansmen. During the trip, they also donated to community welfare, visited the Daliang Fengcheng Home for the Aged, and toured Fengjian Village in Xingtan, which is reputed as the Venice in South China.

 

．The Association held its 137th Anniversary Reception on 4 November 2012 at the Hong Kong City Hall Maxim Palace Restaurant.

 

．Hon. Secretary, Mr. Cletus Lau and Director Mr. Hoffmann Lau represented the Association to attend the 8th World Conference of the Shunde Worldwide Friendship Association held in Johannesburgh, South Africa, from 3 November to 5 November to exchange experiences and strengthen liaison with fellow clansman associations across the world. The opportunity was also taken to establish contacts with associates participating in the Conference thereby promoting the aim and scope of activities of Min Yuen Tong.
